The children at karate camp are doing such a great job! Karate has so many benefits, including increased self control, balance, focus, agility and memory. It's also a great deal of fun.
Self control and discpline are gently encouraged through games and positive reinforcement. More advanced students worked hard on sparring skills, kata and self defense.
Join us Friday at 3:00 for a demonstration.

Karate is Awesome!
Karate is a wonderful way to develop concentration, coordination and agility. Classes are structured to help develop motor skills along with learning how to focus. The exercise component promotes healthy growth and peaceful sleep at night. This is particularly important today when many children are getting less exercise. Karate is also an excellent tool for the enhancement of social skills and confidence. Mastery of its complex body movements, and the confidence gained from facing and defeating opponents both go a long way in the minimizing the physical and emotional awkwardness that teens normally face.

Monday's Class
We had an excellent class today! The karate ka had a great time with 'duck, jump, and move', punch the beach ball, and with the noodle swords.
The white belts are starting off right. They earned their second black stripe for demonstrating their hand strikes. Gold and yellow belts worked hard on pinan one and on sparring techniques - they earned their first blue stripe for a sparring backfist.
Orange belts, green and blue belts worked hard on katas and on sparring techniques. Green and blue belts had their first experience with the chambaras (padded swords). The brown and black belts are doing a fabulous job helping lead the groups.
